Dr. Liam Printer delivers a range of online workshops throughout the academic year on:

  • Teaching languages with compelling, comprehensible inputs

  • Fostering a love for reading in the languages classroom

These courses are typically spread out over two-three weeks with sessions running for 90-120 minutes every Saturday or Sunday.

2-day in-person workshop

The Motivated Classroom 2-day in-person workshop takes place in Geneva, Switzerland every April and in Amsterdam, The Netherlands every August/September.

Day 1:

Teaching languages with compelling, comprehensible inputs using motivational strategies.

Day 2:

A practical, step-by-step, guide to teaching languages with co-created TPRS stories.

The next 2-day in-person workshop will be next delivered with Dynamic Language Learning in Amsterdam, The Netherlands in September 2025:

  • Saturday and Sunday
  • 20 and 21 September 2025

Online Workshops

Three part online workshop; 3 x 2 hour sessions; 6 hours total contact time

The “Story asking” online workshop is aimed at language teachers who want to learn about the Teaching Proficiency through Reading and Storytelling (TPRS) approach to modern languages teaching and start teaching languages through co-created class stories.

The next workshop will be delivered in March-April 2025. It takes place online in three x 2 hour sessions spread over three Saturday mornings.

Three part online workshop; 3 x 1.5 hour sessions

This “Teaching with CI” online workshop is open to anyone in any time zone and who wants to learn more about teaching with a CI approach.

The workshop is delivered online in three 1.5 hour sessions spread over three Saturdays.

The next 3-part workshop on teaching with compelling CI will take place in November 2024:

Two part online workshop; 2 x 2 hour sessions

This “Reading strategies” online workshop is open to anyone in any time zone who wants to foster a love for reading among their language students. The workshops is very practical in nature with participants being part of the “Motivated Classroom” language class and doing the reading activities as the students would.

The workshop is delivered online in two 2 hour sessions spread over two Saturday afternoons.
